KIRKUS REVIEW

A pleasant story about a black cat in the familiar animal-Odyssey pattern. Tommy and Meg felt that Blacker, an adopted stray kitten, was truly a good luck cat. It was Blacker, undoubtedly, who was responsible for better report cards, their mother's shorter hours at the store, and their meeting meek Mr. Tuttle, the gentle clerk. But Blacker jumped into an auto trunk and was spirited away. How Blacker weathered his hardships, and how he was finally found in the home of crotchety old Mr. Emmett -- who was just lonely-and brought together Mr. Emmett, kind Hawkins, the butler, the children and their mother, makes a cheerful tale.
