SERMONS FOR SPECIAL DAYS

Not a few preachers would admit that among the most difficult sermons to prepare are those for special days in the year. They run out of fresh ideas, and despair of novel treatments of old themes. Here is a book that will help restore the flow of water to walls gone dry. Dr. Crowe, the pester of the Methodist Church in Wilmette, Illinois, is a popular preacher in the pulpit and on the radio. He has drawn together in one volume 18 sermons for special days. Included are sermons for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Student Day, Labor Day, Bible Sunday as well as the regular church holy days, Christians, Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. These sermons are not profound, but they do abound in illustrations, quotations and allusions which Protestant clergymen will find suggestive for their own pulpit efforts.
