THE THREE WISHES OF JAMIE MCCRUIN

The strong Irish flavor has its own charm in this whimsical story of Jamie, who is promised three wishes by the fairy queen,- travel, a beautiful wife, and a wonderful son, and of how he achieves all three. He and his cousin manage to trick their families into thinking they are dead, and escape the threat- for Jamie- of a loveless marriage, and get away to America. They join up with a band of Irish horse traders, and one thing leads to another in entertaining fashion as the three wishes come true. Charm and humor and originality, in a gay romance. Winner of $5,000 Christopher Award.
