KIRKUS REVIEW

True to life photographs and a very simple text using basic vocabulary tell the story of where some of the small animals go in the Winter. Specifically- raccoon, squirrel, fox, mouse, chipmunk, skunk, opossum, rabbit- all relatively familiar in the temperate zone are the ones selected. Since this is a question most children ask at about this age it is a sound reason for using what might look like a nature picture book as a beginning reader. The photographs throughout are in halftone; there will be a Kodachrome frontispiece and jacket photographs.
