CAPTAIN OF THE ICE

One of the season's few hockey stories is also a comment on international understanding, for it tells of fifteen year old Frenchy Beaumont and his family who move from Canada to the New England town of Pineville. An excellent player, Frenchy makes his high school team and is a strong contender for the captaincy. But his rival Jimmy Powell resents anything French Canadian and there is a string of nearly serious misunderstandings- in home as well as school life - before relations can be cemented. Good.
