KIRKUS REVIEW

The iron horse, in Texas, drives out the buffalo in its course and a nomadic Comanche tribe, headed by chief Eagle Claw, are its victims (famine). With the Indians is goldenhaired Belle, the survivor of an old raid, and she is eyed by many braves as well as ""smoke devil man"" Bob Wells who wins her heart and makes peace with her adoptive people... The old red threat in a new but not very different treatment.
