KIRKUS REVIEW

From the Atlantic Monthly, the Atlantic Bulletin (which is Morton's special province) and other periodicals, this is a running commentary of short to longer pieces, mostly light, occasionally serious, which air any number of quibbles and quarrels. These may deal with wedding presents, pets, drinks mixed by women, Boston motorists, gift buying guides, automobile design, resort hotels, fraternities, or may extend more generally to cooking, reading, opera, and husbands versus wives with some of the techniques a man should use against the stronger weaker sex. Some private peeves, of wider application, this is sociably, amusingly sustained- and will carry illustrations by Carl Rose.
