KIRKUS REVIEW

Pioneer story with a different setting from that usually associated with Charlie May Simon, for this time it is the Tennessee wilderness, a spot on the map where had been fradulently sold on the basis of there being a thriving town there. This is the story of how two families decided they would take up their rights anyhow, and lay the beginnings of a town themselves. Good picture of wilderness life, of the friendly Indians and the tame wild creatures.
