A good yarn, though bandits and treasure are almost too much for one tale and the first two thirds of the book carry more conviction because the path of the young Everetts is none too smooth. The family fortune has collapsed, and the three younger members of the clan are, of necessity, uprooted from the U. S. A. and brought down to Mexico, where their eldest brother is making a home for them in the deserted hacienda. This is the story of how they made their adjustments -- of the pitfalls for temperament -- of the successive incidents that convinced them they belonged there. Plenty of action, good atmosphere.
