THREE LITTLE STEPS AND THE PARTY; THREE LITTLE STEPS AND THE SPOTTED HORSE

There's no denying the charm and value of the Little Steps books, but it is a question whether or not the price is suitable for these light, paper bound books, as the quality is matched by many of the 25¢ titles of similar format and variety of illustrations. However, parents and teachers do appreciate the strong sewing and heavier board. In The Party the three children -- Jim, Ginger and Johnny -- find a purse, a new friend and a party. A wonderful ride on a merry-go-round, and a merry-go-round horse which is transformed into a rocking horse makes a charming story in the Spotted Horse. Well-developed stories for first steps in reading.
