In an insistently rhyming text that suggests a lullaby (or repetitive birdsong), a baby bird longs to fly, is urged to try, succeeds, and then encourages another fledgling to do likewise. In Tafuri's elegant art, stylized birds are posed against a subtly watercolored sky. Not essential, but an adequate vehicle for its message.
