When Bobby sees a butterfly much like the butterfly ornament on his breakfast dish, he embarks on a frolicking pursuit to make sure his ceramic butterfly has not escaped. While on his search he encounters a vast menagerie of insect and animal life- a lizard, frog, grasshopper, snail, bee, dragonfly, caterpillar, ant, and lady bug. He even meets a butterfly, but not his butterfly. His butterfly is safely embossed on his breakfast dish. The author's four color illustrations are as fresh and alive as the experience of nature discovery which the text invites. Humorous, suspenseful and informative. By the author of Terry Writes a Letter.
