PATSY'S PET

Not to be confused with Patty's Pet by Syd Hoff (see p. 591) though it may serve a somewhat similar purpose. This Patsy, dying to have a pet, is forbidden one in the apartment and is then delighted with a white mouse acquired by a swap with a friend. Patsy's mother is horrified by mice, but there's a happy outcome to all the afflictions when the mouse is traded at a pet store for an easily tended, friendly parrakeet.
