This was published twenty five years ago, and I venture to say that no Mother Goose since then has won as many childish hearts. Over 1,300,000 copies have been sold, and two generations know its checkerboard covers. Over 300 rhymes included. List of the rhymes and alphabetical list of first lines makes it easy to use. And the pictures, in soft colors, have become intimately associated with the jingles, even though eyes keyed to more modern technique find them a bit stereotyped.
