Good biographical material in a popular field, aviation. A group of fairly brief biographies of leading lights in the history of modern aviation, from the Wright Brothers to Wrong Way Corrigan. Each story is built around the interest in flying, how it started, how it was developed, training, point of view and experience, as well as the adventure of actual flights. There is a definite reason for the inclusion of each name, -- men (and one woman) have been selected who made some contribution to the science and development of flying, in its various fields. Some made speed or distance records, others inaugurated some forward step in one type of plane or another. Good reading, with enough anecdotal material to give it human coloring, and historical interest as well.
