GIRL ALONE

Somehow this lacks the appeal of simplicity that characterized Madchen in Uniform. It is a story of a German girl who wants to become a sculptor. She becomes involved in successive love affairs -- goes to Italy -- comes under the influence of a Franciscan who puts her feet on the right path again. Falls in the class of feminine psychological novels -- and again there is the suggestion of Lesbianism.
