EAT, THINK AND BE SLENDER

A stringent examination of another kind of inflation which concerns many in what is the most overweight country in the world- Dr. Kotkin offers no easy excuse (it is not glandular, or metabolic) but the less comfortable answer- if you are overweight it is because you overeat. He explains the psychological origins of obesity- which is a neurosis, the patterns of anxiety, oral gratification, and emotional compensation which usually require some sort of supportive psychotherapy to supplement the diet outlined here. The uselessness of patent medication, the usefulness of vitamins, salt, and water, complete his analysis of the problem and provides the regimen for those with too firm a foundation, and an even firmer resolve.
