Pub Date: Sept. 8th, 1953

Full page two-tons maps, diagrams and spreads by the author, and neatly capsuled text passages give an appealing picture story of the social and economic aspects of the United States. Double spreads for each topic tell of discovery, geographical set up, Indian life, growth of present population, religion and politics, natural resources- imports and exports, local characteristics, cultural life. Excellent for classroom use, this should go well as a pictorial supplement to books like Wilfrid Bronson's Freedom and Plenty (1953) or Eva Knox Evans' Why We Live Where We Live (1953).
