THE CASE OF THE CORNER COTTAGE

Ludovic Travers, now owner of a detective agency, on a personal rather than an academic problem, tracks down the killing of one of his operatives. The trails lead to an isolated cottage, a man in a mental home, a brunette (or is it a blonde?), a big time sporting figure -- and jewels, and Travers writes a satisfactory denouement to a conscientiously untangled case. Slowpoke but solid.
