CLARENCE HOUSE by Christopher Hussey

CLARENCE HOUSE

By

Publisher: Scribner

The home of the Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh is here presented in beautiful photographs and an extensive text for the American public that seems endlessly curious about the private lives of England's royal family. Entirely aside from this aspect, the book should appeal to those interested in the story behind a famous house, in the long history of its background, building, and the people who lent it its particular aura and distinction. The architectural data, the survival of elements contributed by the famous Nash, a detailed room by room description, make it more valuable than simply on the score of its present popular owners. The author is very insistent on the restraint, the moderation, the good taste exercised in making the house again habitable for the young couple.
