THE TOUR

A surprisingly lively examination of the slowest march of dollars on earth -- the rugged professional golf parade. Less of an expose than a debunking, The Tour is dispassionately convincing in illustrating that it's not nearly as easy as it looks. Keane's multi-faceted perspective treats not only the major role of sponsors and patrons -- the all important backer may replace his investment with as much facility as a divot -- but also that of the media explosion -- TV, after all, made this sport into a big business pastime but talks of the birdies (groupies) and rabbits (rookies) are not overlooked (the former seem intent on scoring only with the top ten money winners). Recommended for those who haven't yet seen the forest for the greens fees.
