THE DEVIL LEARNS TO VOTE: The Story of Montana

An incredible story that seems medieval in its crudity, of the building of a state on terrorism, highway robbery, Vigilantes; then vast power in the hands of a few, a financial despotism and political and industrial warfare waged by Daly, Clark and Heinze. Finally, the copper industry in the saddle, controlling everything, including the courts, the merchants, the utilities. Chockful of anecdote and adventure, rather loosely slung together, but fast paced and exciting reading.
