There is sufficient historical background data to show the development and trends; but the book is primarily a clear, concise study of basic and fundamental factors of cooling systems, cylinders, types of fuel (three factors in differentiating motors); on the types of warplanes, and their engines, their purpose and performance; basic principles, the different parts of the motor, function and operation; and the instrument board and its importance.
