Natalie's policeman husband had been found carved up and garnished with a severed ear; since then Natalie has seen twinkling lights in the park obviously up to no good, and something there is that has been pursuing her--in nightmares, on your average street, and with great snuffles, scratches, and boomings at the locked front door. What with the trio of murders around town and a ring in her possession which seems to excite dank unseen powers, Natalie, except for the presence of nice newsman Marc who calls her ""Lady,"" would have been bonkers long since--a fate which may overtake the reader who tries to track the cluttered wind-up of this Rosemary's boobyhatch. But there are those uncritical and insatiable dev(il)otees. . .
