FAR INTO THE NIGHT

... a story of Bali, is told and illustrated with a stylized simplicity that conveys much of Bali and the south seas and the customs of one of the gentlest and most colorful of cultures. is the young girl around whom the story centers. As she follows her pattern- we learn something of Bali's daily life, but as she becomes a legong dancer -- to dance her own joy and feeling far into the night- we know something of its high points too. Startling and perfectly formed blue and yellow pictures by the authors richly decorate the pages. Good stitching.
