It would be nice if some foolishly rich foundation would devote a small bundle of cash to a study that would establish whether our live-for-the-moment young fry really care a hoot for all the weather watching offered to them at every level every year -- especially in poetry. Aside from this question of audience interest, the book offers a simple reading exercise. Both text and illustrations share an essential naivete. There are simply worded rhymed couplets about the qualities of spring as opposed to other seasons. The outlined figures of the pictures are ""colored in."" Very easy-to-read and artlessly color crammed.
