DONALD MCKAY by Clara Ingram Judson

DONALD MCKAY

By

Publisher: Scribner

This is Miss Judson's fourth biography of an American, great in his own field. She has chosen figures dramatic in their own right, and Donald McKay is no exception. The most famous single name in the history of American ship building, McKay was a creative genius of no mean stature, and dared go against the tide, and design for speed and size along wholly new lines. Born on a Nova Scotia farm, he early felt the pull to the trade of boat building, but it was a long and arduous trip to the top -- and success. A good story, well told, and simple enough in the telling for this age group.
