An author-artist well-known in Canada writes a thriller set on the rocky New-foundland coast east of St. Johns and complete with the history of Norse sailings, Spanish treasure and a new fishing industry for the community. In the summer, Angus and his friend Johnny, of Ship Cove, get a map and a tale from a veteran fisherman, Uncle Abe, that puts them on the hunt. Then two strangers they notice on the rocky coastline before them, turn out to be a professor hunting for Norse carvings and an industrialist hunting for a freezing plant site. In some measure, all find what they seek- but the main feeling is one of hard work well done.
