KIRKUS REVIEW

Another one of Clare Leighton's delightful garden books, illustrated with 88 wood engravings by the author. This is the story of the twelve months in her own garden, -- the first flowers, the nesting birds, the old gardener, the maid of all work, the vegetables, the fruit trees, drought and rain, hay mowing, fall planting, seed catalogues and snow, and spring again. All charmingly described. Should appeal to anyone who has or likes gardens... a grand Christmas gift. It does not quite fit into the Down The Garden Path class....it is more strictly for people that actually like gardening. Not a how-to-do book.
