KIRKUS REVIEW

There's rather more about art galleries and collectors than one needs to know in this long-winded mystery concerning the swimming pool murder of unscrupulous artist Gainsborough Brown. Art factotum Persis researches Brown's tangled art, business, and love life, and tracks down a cache of key paintings before the gothic denouement. Too cluttered to hold the eye for longer than it takes to drown Brown.
