The team writing under the name Clark McMeekin have gone contemporary on their readers. with an ingenious turn that parallels a story of the last war with a story of this, eventually merging the two. Good dialogue -- smoother writing than Show Me a Land or Recken with the River, but less glamorous as to plot, period and setting. There is no central character to capture the imagination -- Lou is at best, a rather (when not a laughable) figure, and one cannot feel much warmth of emotion over , the Bennet, father or son. I can't feel that this will add to their laurels.
