HOW TO STAY MARRIED by Clark W. & Norman M. Lobsenz Blackburn

Email this review

Mr. Blackburn is the General Director of Family Service Association of America which has 335 operative agencies serving 400,000 families a year and this is based on many of their counselors' experience. ""We live too much according to the ideas and advices (sic) of others"" says one of them -- but then, if we didn't, what would justify a book like this which however well intentioned, says little that you've never heard or read before. ""How you can make a marriage meaningful"" via communal goals interests and how you spend your time -- and money; parents and in-laws; the sexual relationship; communicating and fighting (it depends on how you fight) etc. etc.; all these ""problems need to be faced realistically."" So does the fact that while there's nothing to take exception to here, it is all very unexceptional.
