KIRKUS REVIEW

From Belgium, a pair of wordless little books about a pair of endearing bears engaged in sibling competition and cooperation. In the first, the elder watches the younger play with a beloved toy elephant, eventually succumbing to his instincts and retrieving it after she falls asleep; in the morning, a more accommodating spirit prevails, and the two are last seen cuddling Jumbo together. In the second, Ginny is a guinea pig who escapes while they squabble over her; thereafter, while the bears search for her together, Ginny appears in each illustration for young ""readers"" to discover--until she goes back to her cage of her own accord. Both toddlers and adults should be charmed by these deft, affectionate illustrations.
