ROOKIE RUNNING BACK

Football as personality clashes. Rookie Mike Scott reports to the Steeltown Tigers training camp after four years at Yale and becomes the center of a large publicity campaign to boost boxoffice sales. One of the coaches is suspicious of any Ivy Leaguer and the veteran quarterback also resents losing the limelight so together they plot Scott's downfall, faking fumbles and splicing film to throw 100% pure Mike into confusion. But it all works out at the (still pre-season) game at the Yale Bowl when the villains are revealed while Mike overcomes their impossible schemes. The knuckle-cracking coach is a knucklehead and Mike hasn't a mean thought in his educated cranium.
