KIRKUS REVIEW

The daydream-nightmare world of the schizoid as Martin Woodruff, a deadbeat, idles with the plan to dispose of his cousin, J.M., who had inherited a million, while Martin had run through the few thousand left him by an aunt. From the conscious, coherent attempts to commit a flawless crime, to the moments of oblivion in which he has killed, this follows through to the inevitable crackup. A portrait of a paycho which is able and believable.
