THE AFFAIR OF THE CRIMSON GULL

Huntoon Rogers quietly works his way through a rigor mortis rigamarole out at Lake Tahoe, when two of a group of old acquaintances and old summer residents are killed, and suspicion is aimed at a nice, young ex-husband of an equally nice girl. Quite some flimflam about an old Indian curse and a gull whose plumage reddens with each casualty help to distract the reader. Capable -- but bland.
