ANIMALS FROM EVERYWHERE THE NORTH POLE BEFORE LUNCH

Two British imports by the author of The Story of Noah (1949-p.603). The book about animals should have a long life --beautifully illustrated, chatty, witty. Each animal -- and there is a large wild and domestic variety here- is discussed with solemn appreciation and lively comments. The author remarks with some regret that piglets will grow up to look like mother ""which seems a pity""; that fowl ""are not very interesting really"" and that when a billy goat is advancing ""it is best to go somewhere else as soon as possible"". All the young person needs to know in the barnyard or in the jungle. The North Pole Before Lunch may be too whimsical for some -- the fanciful story of Jennifer and Michael's trip in their airplane to the North Pole, and how they returned before bath time.
