. . . had no idea what sort of creature he was. The camel told him he was a desert rat; the tortoise called him a fat cat without a tail. He was busy digging new tunnels in his home in the side of a hill where he unearthed many Things. When Hamid left his tunnel home he brought with him many of the Things he had found there. After many travels and encounters with other wayfarers, Hamid dign tunnel which brings him to the surface in the office of the Director of a Museum, who explained to Hamid that he was a Syrian Golden Hamster and that his Things were Relica of Antiquity. The finale of the story is effective as Hamid donates his Things to the Museum and is rewarded.
