THE SWORD IN THE TREL

A slight but well moulded story set in the England of King Arthur's day tells of young Shan and his trials after a wicked uncle had ped his father's rights. Shan's ne'er do well uncle Lionel throws Lord Weldon into the castle dungeon, saying that he has been killed in a hunting accident. There follow hard months for Shan and his mother which are ended only when Shan reports the case to King Arthur, proves Weldon Castle is not Lionel's and frees his father from imprisonment. A clean cut tale with the firmly embedded savour of the times.
