AMBASSADOR TO INDUSTRY

Biography of a man who has made a great contribution to the field of education, of particular interest to practical education groups, special training courses, etc. This is a personal record of pioneering in technical education, from the origins of Dean Herman Schneider's ideas for correlating study and practical experience, to such education systems in operation. The general public thinks of the Antiooh experiment as the first of its kind. Schneider's work actually came first. An educative rebel, he faced much opposition before he could put his schemes into practice, but the results evidenced in his experimental students provided him with the chance to forward his plans, to expand his ideas, until his case histories, his investigations in testing for charting careers, his placement help, made him an outstanding figure in cooperation between industry and education, and enabled him to introduce supplementary cultural and art subjects, at the University of Cincinnati.
