KIRKUS REVIEW

A book for those who liked ONE ARMED SUTTON, and other biographies of incorrigible adventurers. Here is one that ranks with the best -- a man who seems to have been at least three places at once, the one necessary factor being that a revolution of sorts should be under way, or about to come over the horizon. South and Central America provided his best stage. An inveterate hunter of trouble, he began his career cheating cheaters in a gambling joint near New Orleans, escaped as a stowaway on a Dutch freighter and is still escaping from one thing or another. Good reading for stay-at-homes!
