RIDING FOR TEXAS by Col. Edward M. as told to Tyler Mason House

RIDING FOR TEXAS

By

Pub Date: May 14th, 1936
Publisher: Reynal & Hitchcock

This seems one of these ""You told me that he told you"" books. Colonel House has contributed a foreword, explaining his share in collecting the facts which he in turn passes on to Tyler Mason. But the protagonist of the book is Capt. Bill McDonald, Texas Ranger, who followed the precepts of the Canadian Mounties and always ""got his man"". Here is the essence of Westerns -- fast shooting, hard riding, quick thinking, a Ranger working for his government and insistent on his power. Robbers, murderers, singly or in groups, rustlers -- all met and all vanquished. A man who acted as special guard for ""T.R."" and later for Woodrow Wilson. An informal biography, which men who like westerns would enjoy. Tie up with Texas Centennial in Texas and border states.
