An enthusiastic biography of the man who was the Wild West, this measures up as very good reading among the scores of other books about William Cody and comes from the of two men of widely ranging editorial, publishing and business enterprise activities. Mr. Sell has been president of Vitamins Plus, makes Sell's Liver Pate and is a kinsman of , but he also edits Town and Country as the climax of a long literary career. Long associate of Mr. Sell's, Mr. Weybright has been a writer and a diplomat and is now editor-in-chief of the New American Library. Their life of Cody is thorough and if one recognizes the familiar ring of events, there is a certain vividness to their retelling as they pinpoint Cody the man and Cody the legend. A big, colorful job this also throws the spotlight on Cody's surroundings in real and stage life and is complete with many drawings and old photographs that savour bygone days.
