BOY: An Ozark Coon Hound

In another of his dog stories Colonel Meek tells of a nerve-shot war veteran who settles in the Ozarks complete with a hundred and thirty-two acres, an old house and Boy, a bluetick coon hound. The war problems, lightly brushed over in the beginning, are soothed by hills, hunting and dog companionship and Greg, the hero, finally finds a sense of belonging when the combined affections of Boy and the local Spit and Whittle Club win him over. Averagely told, but not lacking in a certain thrill of the hunt and warm Ozark humor.
