LA CHALEUR DU NID: The Warmth of the Nest by Colette Yver

LA CHALEUR DU NID: The Warmth of the Nest

By

Publisher: Calmann-Levy

A sentimental, tender, (overly so), story of children of divorce, feminine in handling and in appeal. The idyllic childhood of a boy and a girl is soon ruptured when the unjustified and senseless jealousy of the father brings the marriage to separation -- then divorce. The children, held first by the mother, then by the father, go through endless conflicts -- until each remarries with the children even more resentful. Occasionally poignant, save that the motivation of the parents is rather nebulous -- and that they seem far more puerile and foolish than their censoring offspring.
