Except for the more lyrical Ave atque Vale. The Man Who Walked Through Time and the Grand Canyon has assembled a book of specifics for other hardier hikers. From socks and boots on to what you tote on your back--food (dehydrated the only answer); tents; sleeping bags; clothes, furniture and appliances; maps; toiletries (only a comb or brush if socially necessary); water; etc., etc. There is interconnecting advice on how to toughen up your feet, or deal with special situations such as snakebite or lightning. Throughout prices and procurability of the various recommended equipment. . . . Obviously a book like this will be more than worth its weight, a constant consideration, and could be still more desirable in paper.
