THE UNIVERSE

A very useful reference book that matches subject matter to reading level. Some of the more important and interesting topics of modern astronomy and cosmology are covered in short essays for the junior high or upper elementary reader; those which might prove difficult such as parallax--are omitted. In this respect if differs from the Life publication, The Universe, which takes on more than most young readers are ready to handle. However, the illustrations in the Life series are unquestionably better. Depending on your needs, you may want both.
