Remember Sgt. Love and Inspector Purbright and Lucilla Teatime and her Institute of Psychical Research? They're all at the scenes of the crimes which take place after a ritual in which Mrs. Flora Pentatuke is observed dancing in the buff to a ""stilted version of Percy Grainger's Handkerchief Dance."" The crimes refer to iniquities in the church, a disappearance, and a murder and while the mystery isn't all that much, there's the tinctured eccentricity which Flaxborough features each time it is revisited to comic advantage.
