Modified gothic witchcraft in which Ceil Ellison, who reads both the ouija board and R. D. Laing, can't quite explain those periods of dissociation after she arrives on a Caribbean island to help attractive Rene, the Master of Gorme, with his son. His wife had died but now a gree-gree shrieks in the trees and Ceil has attacks of vertigo later related to the kola nutmeg. The story's somewhat helter-skelter what with all the aromatic diversification but the tone is modem. Juju or jujube, a little of both.
