WEST POINT SECOND CLASSMAN

Fans who liked earlier stories about Clint Lane's life at West Point, will enjoy his adventures as a second classman. Again, Clint's innate leadership potential and participation in athletics are recounted against a background of military education, adventure and occasional dates. This time Clint and his classmates take a trip via Globemaster to Fort Benning, Ga., and to other military installations. Clint flies a helicopter, is injured in a football game against Illinois, cracks up in a plane and conquers only on subjects and in situations that appeal to him. Although Clint foregoes captaincy of the football team in favor of another boy whom he feels merits the position, the post he wants most is his at the end of the book. A natural for sports fans and for readers whose tastes run to the school-hero type of book.
